We are longstanding members of the British Blinds & Shutter Association (BBSA) and take the safety and care of young children very seriously. As members of the BBSA we are committed to manufacture blinds that are child safe and too comply with the guidelines outlined in the British & European Safety Standards (BS EN 13120:2009+A1:2014).

We supply all blinds with a cleat, which will ensure all cords are safely secured to the wall, wrapping around a clear cord tidy. A breakaway cord condenser is pre-fitted to the lift cords so that when a horizontal force is applied to the cords above the condenser, it safely breaks away, eliminating any hazardous loops.

We will never manufacture a Venetian blind with a cord drop longer than 1000mm, and we wholly recommend that once you have installed the blind, you ensure the bottom of the cords are at least 1500mm from the floor. We appreciate cords of 1000mm can be hard to reach on a high window, so if you call us with your Install Height (measuring from the floor to where the brackets will fit) then we can advise if we can produce longer cords, but please note the guidance of 1500mm from the floor to the bottom of the cords must be followed with no exceptions.
The Headrail
The headrail of all our Sunwood Blinds are made from an extremely strong PVC material, and are colour co-ordinated as close as possible to the blind colour.

The Brackets
All brackets and components are included. We do not include any wall plugs or fixing screws, as each window can have different fixings, unfortunately we cannot provide a universal solution. The blinds are easily fitted using our universal brackets which can be face, side or top fixed to the window, wall or lintel.

The Controls
All blinds are supplied as standard with a Left Hand Tilt and Right Hand Raise operation. We do have the facility in certain blinds to change the control sides for a fee, and this will be visible in the drop down boxes on the product page when available.

The Ends
The blinds are cut from pre-manufactured box sizes, so the ends will be unfinished/unpainted. As blinds usually sit inside a Recess then this is not a problem, but for Real Wood Blinds we do offer a Stained Ends Service for if you are installing blinds in a bay window or outside the recess.

The Pelmet
The pelmet is left “Uncut” at the standard box size so it can be cut to size by you with a standard hacksaw. As standard the pelmet is mitred on one side only and we include both mitre pieces as standard. We do offer a “Flush Cut to Size” and “Pelmet Cut & Mitred With Returns” options for an additional cost within each product page. For the Mitred Returns we will always send these separately to the pelmet, so that they do not break in transit – all fixings are included to join these together.

The Blind Length
The actual drop of your blind is manufactured as close as possible to your measurements, dependant on your slat size, on occasions the blind can be slightly longer than the drop requested.

The Ladders
The amount of ladders will be determined by the width of your blind, and we cannot alter the ladder spacings. If you require to know the specific amount of ladders in any blind, then please contact us.
