Cotton White Perfect Fit Shutter

Perfect Fit Shutter brackets are designed for the blind to be secured at the top and bottom of the Glass. The brackets are located by punched holes where they will simply slot into; when installing we advise to locate the bottom brackets in their holes first and then locate the top ones.

Adhering to the Perfect Fit Shutter specification, extra brackets are required when a height measurement is equal to or greater than 900mm. The hole on the side frame we drill is circular, which gives the side bracket a better fixing opportunity and is all part of the specification. The side brackets are visible and currently do not have any cover caps or stickers to place over them. We will always try to centre this hole we drill to the height of the stile to be aesthetically pleasing, however there can be times, because of the build of the blind, that this hole has to be off-centred. Such examples are when you may have a window handle rebate or the tensioning screw of the slats is central.

Please note that if your bead depth measurement is between sizes, such as 25mm, we would suggest for you to size down to the 24mm bracket.

Please also note that the top and bottom bracket holes may not always be a credit card width inwards for the brackets, for example, when the shutters have a narrow width. Spacing the bracket holes not at a credit card’s width is a decision which our manufacturing and production department make.

You may have side brackets depending on the drop of the shutter. Refer to the guide below for the number of side bracket holes required:

• < 900 mm → 0 bracket holes
• 900–1499 mm → 1 bracket hole
• 1500–1999 mm → 2 bracket holes
• ≥ 2000 mm → 3 bracket holes

In addition to side brackets:

• 2 Top Brackets are always required for secure mounting.
• 2 Bottom Brackets are also required and must be lined up for proper support.

Ensure all brackets are correctly installed.

Example: So if your drop is less than 900mm, you will have 4 brackets. If it is over 2000mm, you would have 10 brackets – 2 for the top, 2 for the bottom and 3 for each side.

Perfect Fit Shutter blinds are not suitable for any sliding door or bi-fold door system, the frame sits proud by approximately 30mm from fitting flush against the window frame. Hence, this will prohibit any bi-fold door systems folding completely flat against one another.

Please note that your window/door must also be internally beaded, so the brackets can slide behind the beading.

We cannot align and match the slats/louvres for any of our Perfect Fit Shutters which have different drops, which we appreciate could be in the same window or room. As Perfect Fit is measured so accurately, our manufacturing software automatically calculates the pitch between the slats based on the drop of the Glass measurement and this cannot be changed under any circumstance.

As members of the BBSA we are committed to manufacture blinds that are child safe and to comply with the guidelines outlined in the British & European Safety Standards (BS EN 13120:2009+A1:2014).

We supply all Roller Blinds with either a breakaway device or a fixed tensioning device that we manufacture – the safety device method is chosen automatically by software in our production.

Breakaway Device
A breakaway device has been designed and rigorously tested to come apart under 6kg of pressure; the breakaway device can be easily clipped back together, allowing the blind to be used as normal afterwards. These safety chain connectors are used in pairs and at least 200mm apart. The breakaway device will always remain attached to one end of the chain if it does break apart. In order for this safety device to be fitted in-line with child safety legislation, as the installation height of your window is unknown, we will calculate the chain length to be 2/3 of the blind drop. For example, a blind with a 1000mm drop will have a chain no longer than 666mm.

Fixed Tensioning Device
A fixed tensioning device has been designed to ensure cords are fixed to the wall, to prevent any looped hazards from being present. As the installation height of your window is unknown, for blinds with a drop of less than 2500mm, the chain length will be no longer than 1000mm or for blinds with a drop of more than 2500mm, the chain length will be equal to the blind drop less 1500mm.

We will not make any exceptions for customer requests for any longer chain lengths required, if you would like to query the chain length we would supply for a specific blind size or provide us with an Install Height of your window, then we will be happy to apply this specific instruction to your order – however this must be done within 1 hour of placing your order, by eMail.

We recommend that regular visual checks are carried out to ensure that no components or blind parts have been damaged, dislodged or lost which could result in operating difficulties and/or cause a safety risk. If any maintenance is required, we recommend that the work is carried out immediately, by a reputable blind company and the blind to be removed and not used if there is a safety concern.

Any minor scratches can be buffed out using an ultrafine sanding pad to ensure the shutters maintain their appearance.

For products qualifying for same day dispatch & free next day, please be aware that this is a production upgrade through the factory and not to be confused with a courier service. The order must be made before 11am and all products in the order must qualify for this. For any order after 11am, qualifying orders will dispatch the next working day.

Although we send all items on a next day service, due to our freight mostly being un-conveyable through the courier hub network our delivery partners ask that we allow 2 working days for any item sent by us.

To take advantage of our free promotion production upgrades, these must be selected in checkout. A delivery fee will be payable on any order under our threshold of £199.00, regardless of any free production promotion we advertise on our individual products.

“Blackout” or “Blockout” fabrics – if stated, although the material is blackout/blockout, the blind can contain some light leakage, as such we are unable to advertise any blind system as 100% blackout. As examples; on a vertical blind you may get light leakage between each slat and around the full blind, on a perfect fit blind you may get light leakage between the material and frame and on a roller blind you will get light leakage between the fabric and the edge of the brackets. Uneven Light Strike

All shutters can display variations in light across the panel. This is caused by
natural light reflecting and bouncing within the window recess at different angles.

This may result in some areas appearing brighter than others, giving the impression
that louvres are uneven.

This is a normal optical effect and not a fault.

Light Control

Shutters are designed to filter and diffuse light, not fully block it.

• Light will pass between louvres and around the frame
• Light levels may vary across the panel
• Larger louvres allow more light in; smaller louvres increase privacy
• For blackout, a secondary blind is recommended

For shutters in colours other than white (such as greys, blacks, or wood-effect tones),
minor surface variations or marks may be more noticeable.

This is due to how darker or richer colours reflect light, which can highlight:

• Subtle surface variations
• Minor finishing marks
• Slight tonal differences

These are normal characteristics of the product and are not considered defects.

These shutters are manufactured from PolyVinyl (PVC), a durable and low-maintenance material.

• The surface may show minor manufacturing or finishing variations on close inspection
• Panels are engineered for strength but may have slight flexibility compared to rigid materials
• Over time, normal use may result in minor movement within the panel or hinges

These are standard characteristics of PVC shutter systems.

• Shutters are installed within a frame and are designed to be supported when closed
• Panels may drop slightly when open due to their weight; a gentle lift when closing is normal
• When opened, panels will project into the room
• Small gaps between panels, tiers, or frames are standard
• Tier-on-tier designs will include a small gap between top and bottom panels

• Frames may be fitted inside or outside the recess depending on the window
• Mid-rails may be included for strength and may not always align exactly with window features
• Larger panels and louvres generally allow more light into the room
• Track systems (e.g. for doors) may include visible gaps where tracks are present

PVC shutters are suitable for higher humidity areas; however:

• Condensation should still be wiped away
• Prolonged exposure to excess moisture should be avoided where possible

All shutters should be assessed under the following conditions:

• Viewed from approximately 2 metres away
• In normal room lighting conditions
• Viewed straight on (perpendicular to the surface)
• Using the naked eye (with glasses if normally worn)
