For products qualifying for same day dispatch & free next day, please be aware that this is a production upgrade through the factory and not to be confused with a courier service. The order must be made before 11am and all products in the order must qualify for this. For any order after 11am, qualifying orders will dispatch the next working day.
Although we send all items on a next day service, due to our freight mostly being un-conveyable through the courier hub network our delivery partners ask that we allow 2 working days for any item sent by us.
To take advantage of our free promotion production upgrades, these must be selected in checkout. A delivery fee will be payable on any order under our threshold of £199.00, regardless of any free production promotion we advertise on our individual products.
The blinds are cut from pre-manufactured box sizes, so the ends will be unfinished/unpainted. As blinds usually sit inside a Recess then this is not a problem, but for Real Wood Blinds we do offer a Stained Ends Service for if you are installing blinds in a bay window or outside the recess.
Please note that for real wood Venetian blinds - due to the porous nature of real wood, the stained ends service will improve the exposed ends but will not create a 'perfect' stain/finish. The stain will be co-ordinated to the colour of the wood stain, but please note that this may not be an exact match.
The actual drop of your blind is manufactured as close as possible to your measurements, dependant on your slat size, on occasions the blind can be slightly longer than the drop requested.
Should extra slats sit on the bottom bar?
On all our Wooden Blinds it is normal for up to two slats to sit on the bottom bar, this is to cover the punch holes in the bottom bar and to minimise the light seepage. Sometimes you will have a second slat sat on the bottom bar, this is there to block the light when closed, and even though it may look like it shouldn't be there - trust us it is meant to be!
All our blinds are made to measure and manufactured by highly skilled professionals.
Due to the custom nature of our products, we have a Width tolerance of +/- 5mm and a Drop tolerance of +/- 10mm on all Recess, Exact Blind Size and Bracket to Bracket measurement options.
Whilst we aim to be as accurate as possible, the two tolerances are due to machinery and saw blades which cut our fabrics and components. If the blind received in an order is within the correct size and tolerance, then we are unable to replace the blind or accept a return for the item. If there are multiple blinds in an order and only certain blinds have issues, then those blinds will be queried, and we would not accept returns for any correct item on an order.
Wooden Blinds are made to measure and due to the way that they are cut to size, small chips can sometimes occur on the edges of the slats, this is an inherent factor when cutting the slats and any visible chips or blemishes which are 5mm or less are within our tolerance, as they are not visible to the eye when standing at least a meter away from your window.
Wooden and Faux Wooden Blinds can sometimes arrive with scratches on the face of the headrail, this is within this product tolerance as we supply a Pelmet/Valance to sit over the front of the blind which would hide any of these manufacturing blemishes from view when the blind is installed.
The weight of blinds, typically over 2000mm wide, will naturally be heavy; more so in Faux Wood, as this product is naturally heavier due to the material. If you are worried about the blind being too heavy, then we advise to either motorise your blind or split the larger windows down into smaller blinds. When raising and lowering your blinds, in any case, it is good practice for one hand giving assistance to compensate for the weight of the slats to ease the operation.
BlindsbyPost will look at each case on a case-by-case basis to resolve any issues you may have with your order.
We are longstanding members of the British Blinds & Shutter Association (BBSA) and take the safety and care of young children very seriously. As members of the BBSA we are committed to manufacture blinds that are child safe and too comply with the guidelines outlined in the British & European Safety Standards (BS EN 13120:2009+A1:2014).
We supply all blinds with a cleat, which will ensure all cords are safely secured to the wall, wrapping around a clear cord tidy. A breakaway cord condenser is pre-fitted to the lift cords so that when a horizontal force is applied to the cords above the condenser, it safely breaks away, eliminating any hazardous loops.
We will never manufacture a Venetian blind with a cord drop longer than 1000mm, and we wholly recommend that once you have installed the blind, you ensure the bottom of the cords are at least 1500mm from the floor. We appreciate cords of 1000mm can be hard to reach on a high window, so if you call us with your Install Height (measuring from the floor to where the brackets will fit) then we can advise if we can produce longer cords, but please note the guidance of 1500mm from the floor to the bottom of the cords must be followed with no exceptions.
Faux Wood are manufactured from an extremely durable PVC plastic, which in turn brings benefits of being waterproof and very easy to clean. Real Wood blinds are, as you can probably guess, made from 100% real basswood! Real Wood blinds come in fantastic colours, some oozing with class with their deep grained texture.
There are two sets of controls on a Wooden blind. To raise and lower the blind, the cord would be on the right hand side of the blind and when you pull this cord the bottom bar of the blind moves upwards, and each slat stacks on top of each other until the blind reaches the headrail where it cannot be raised any higher. To tilt the slats, there are two cords on the left hand side of the blind. Pulling one cord will make the slats close downwards and pulling the other cord will then make the slats close upwards.
Whilst Wooden blinds do block plenty of light out and will give complete privacy when closed, they are not a blackout product.
The slats on wood blinds when closed do overlap each other, however there will still be light creeping round each individual slat.
Measuring for our wooden blinds is straightforward. How you want your blinds to fit - inside the recess or outside of it - will determine where you measure. Check out our full measuring guide for wooden blinds for step-by-step instructions.
Each of our wooden blinds come with a full fitting guide which can be downloaded from our website, along with a short demonstration video. We recommend reading and watching these carefully before installation to get the perfect fit for your wooden blinds.
For our faux wood blinds, you can clean them by running a damp cloth over the slats. If your wooden blinds are from our real wood range then it's important to keep them dry, so it's best to dust them with a dry cloth or hoover with the dust attachment.
Wooden blinds can't be beaten for their timeless, stylish look if you want a classic yet flexible solution to your room. Even better, you can choose from real wood or faux and from a huge range of finishes to get the perfect match.
Our blinds are made to order, and we understand that you may need your blinds as soon as possible. That’s why we offer a same day despatch service for all orders placed before 11am Monday to Friday. This means that if you place your order before 11am on a weekday, we will make sure to get your blinds out to our couriers on the same day, so they can be delivered to you the very next working day.
For orders placed after 11am on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, delivery will be on the following Tuesday. This is to ensure that your blinds are not sitting in a warehouse over the weekend, and that they reach you in the best condition possible.
We use reliable and efficient couriers to ensure that your blinds are delivered to you on time. We understand that you may have specific delivery requirements, so please do not hesitate to contact us if you need to arrange a different delivery date or have any questions about the delivery process.
In addition, we offer a “next day delivery” option for certain products if you need them urgently. We also offer a tracking link for you to follow your order.
